In this and other questions in our current project, Did You Know Series, we need to let the readers know that your Foster Families Examiner is not an attorney.  Therefore, can only offer you advice based on twelve years of experience in dealing in the Foster Care System, acting as an advocate for thousands of foster parents.

CPS vs Slavery
Part 1 ~ Part 2 ~ Part 3 ~ Part 4
Return to Topics Index

A documentary on slavery, aired on the history channel the evening of May of 2010 spark interest from your examiner, who could not help but compare the similarities to a situation in today’s world, astounding to realize that history truly does repeat itself.

The program was very informative, facts of which your examiner was not aware. Facts as to what these oppressed people endured in this country.

Just imagine; sold into slavery by those unscrupulous people who place money above all, even above principals? According to this program, even judges were paid five dollars to free these people, and ten dollars to sell them into slavery. It does not take a rocket scientist to determine which was the most popular.

A fact that connected the comparison to CPS was this statement; "Mothers and Fathers separated from their children". The children you see were not as valuable because they were unable to endure the workload that owners placed upon slaves Although in today’s world this has been reversed, similarities are astounding;

Children ripped from their parent’s arms by the very entity created to protect them. The federal government pays this entity for every child who enters this broken Foster Care System, the child continues earning money, like children being used as firewood to keep the flame in the money pit from going out. Was this entity created to protect children, or use them in an ongoing billion dollar business venture.

Even if the parents have problems in sufficiently caring for their child (ren) do these children deserve group homes, and even the best foster home in America does not, could not, and should not replace the child’s parents. A foster home can offer love and support to this child and we do, until the child is forcibly removed from our homes too, once again love being denied them. Reunification foster parents are told in our training, always our ultimate goal, but to the agencies money seems to be the only goal?

The Constitution was written for children too, the promise of equal justice for American citizen’s? Does this not apply to children too, our smallest citizens, where are the child’s rights, the rights of these children who sometimes never to see their parents again? What happened to fair, unbiased law, trial and convictions?

Return to CPS vs Slavery

  • Part 2 - Are your children next?

In part 1 we were discussing the similarities between slavery and this entity created to protect children. We found that the situations reversed for it is not the parents who are prime targets but the children who have generated an on-going billion dollar industry for this system.

Let us continue this discussion;

Who is CPS to say these children did anything wrong, therefore should be punished? If the parents were actually abusing them, they needed to remove them, however many times children are removed with any just cause.

Many times a child is removed from their biological parent’s home, without just cause, parents often are guilty of nothing except good parenting skills, but nothing that should be prompting this radical step by CPS. To get a clear picture on this read our article called “Define Child Abuse”.

What is wrong with this picture and why are the courts allowing CPS to get away with this, or better yet, why are “we the people” allowing it to continue? There is something wrong with a society that allows a government entity and/or children to dictate what form of discipline a parent can utilize in raising their children. www.youtube.com/watch

  • We have listed some of the removals we have seen presented to you in the article mentioned above, read it and if you agree whether these children were victims of abuse, or good parenting skills. Write to your Congressman, State Senator, or Legislator demand they look into the workings of CPS; need an email address or contact number go to nfpcar.org  or, subscribe, so you won’t miss any of our articles.

Parents are afraid to discipline their children anymore for the fear of losing them to CPS.

Many years ago Dr. Spock gave advice that it was wrong to spank your child, stating that other forms of discipline can be utilized, he since has apologized for that advice. He observed first hand in his later years the result of that advice, producing a generation of undisciplined, self-serving juvenile delinquents who had no respect for authority; http://www.nospank.net/journal.htm

A few days ago while sitting in a large shopping mall a teenage boy stood up to offer his seat for another person to sit down; we see doors opened for woman again, chairs held, teenagers actually saying; thank you, you are welcome.

Return to CPS vs Slavery

In part 2 we were taking a look into observances we see in the attitude of children/teens today who are once again showing respect for their elders.

Where is this coming from?
Parents, who realize what was happening to the children in our Nation, have now determined that they are going to teach morals, values, no longer cringing in fear of CPS. This country needs get back to the basics, for which we stand. We said that we were going to use a quote;

“More than five decades after Dr Spock sent corporal punishment to the woodshed, spanking is making a comeback. A growing number of parents--many of whom were never spanked themselves-are shunning the experts, defying disapproving friends and neighbors, and giving their kids a slap on the bottom, the hand or the leg. Web sites popular with parents, such as Village.com and Oxygen.com, are filled with chat-room buzz from pro-spankers. Just last year, both Oklahoma and Nevada passed laws explicitly giving parents the right to spank their children. Even House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt last year admitted that he has spanked his three kids, noting that his mother disciplined him with a switch--and he turned out fine”.

Read then entire article; http://www.nospank.net/journal.htm

We are exploring slavery, if it is in fact the same mind set to remove children from their parents, place them in the bondage of the Foster Care System, or CPS holding them until they turn eighteen. In comparison between the slavery as we know it to mean then in comparison to what we have today, what does it means to our country;

Did Abraham Lincoln come to a conclusion regarding slavery; Read Abraham Lincoln’s “Emancipation Proclamation” :

"That on the first day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-three, all persons held as slaves within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States, shall be then, thenceforward, and forever free; and the Executive Government of the United States, including the military and naval authority thereof, will recognize and maintain the freedom of such persons, and will do no act or acts to repress such persons, or any of them, in any efforts they may make for their actual freedom.

It is not the parents who are enslaved but the children who represent a billion dollar business industry. If a country, via war, has determined that slavery was wrong then why are we allowing this to take place?  Subscribe to this examiner, don't miss any articles.
